Former federal airline safety inspector-investigator details 50 years of airline disasters and the politics, misconduct, incompetence, and corruption that made them possible. The above great airline disaster, a United Airlines DC-8, occurred on December 16, 1960. Nearly 41 years later, while a series of other great air disasters occurred due to misconduct in certain key segments of the Federal Aviation Administration,
Ironically, certain people at United Airlines that played key roles in the long series of airline disasters experienced by United Airlines, played major roles in enabling the corruption in the FAA to continue.
