CIA involvement in Afghanistan disintegration.

As described in the book, Defrauding America, CIA assets funded and armed Islamic rebels seeking to overthrow the Western-learning Afghanistan government about two years before the Soviet Union was involved.

In response to this threat, Afghan leaders asked the Soviet Union to send troops to help defend against the rebels seeking to overthrow the government.

The CIA then responded—surely under direction of White House politicians—sending more money and more military weapons to the rebels, which then increased in number.

Eventually, the Soviet Union pulled out its troops, the United States left Afghanistan, and civil war broke out. The secular heads of government were overthrown, and the country entered civil war. This was followed by the fanatical religious Taliban seizing control of the country. This group welcomed Osama bin Laden, and the blowback consequences were felt on 9/11.

This is one example of the far-removed ripple effects of meddling by U.S. politicians into the affairs of foreign countries.

More information can be found

The books can also be ordered from amazon.com or the Lulu press. When arriving at the site, put the author's name, "Rodney Stich" into the search box.

For those who want a deeper understanding of the pattern of corruption in government offices, from 1950 to the present date, of which today's conduct in government offices and covert operations is simply an extension, check the Defrauding America Internet site.
