The congressional and 9/11 Commission hearings into the areas of blame for the conditions that enabled four groups of terrorists to hijack four airliners had carefully avoided addressing the areas of corruption that led to the hijackings of four airliners and the deaths of 3,000 people. And for "good" reasons.

To address those areas would expose corruption in government offices far beyond the comprehension of the average person.

The first area of corruption and the area of primary blame for the conditions enabling four groups of terrorists to hijack four airliners was the corrupt culture in the FAA, and then the political NTSB board members.

Former federal aviation safety agent Rodney Stich acted as an independent prosecutor while in his government position seeking to expose and force corrective actions many years earlier. He conducted four months of hearings, during which he further documented the corruption that made possible several specific airline disasters. 

Part of his final closing brief at those hearings warned of the consequences of cover-ups. Cover-up did follow, followed by a long line of otherwise preventable airline disasters and hijackings.

After leaving government, and motivated by the continuation of airline disasters made possible by the corrupt culture in the FAA, Stich filed a lawsuit against the FAA. In another case, he filed a friend-of-the-court brief in a DC-10 disaster.

The 9/11 Commission and the congressional hearing focused on the innocent failures of the FBI and CIA. The commission members covered up for the hardcore corruption in the FBI and CIA that created an environment where the evidence of the planned airline hijackings were ignored.

These problems have existed for years, resulting in numerous prior airline disasters and hijackings, and many deaths. These problems still exist, and will continue to have resulting catastrophic consequences.

The failure of the checks and balances, and the indifference by the public after they heard of this misconduct, enabled more crashes and more deaths tos continue. This pattern has not changed.
