How Those in Control of the System Discard American War Heroes
The following letter was written by a long-forgotten American war hero, who, upon returning to the United States, and while employed as an FBI Special Agent, sought to report criminal and subversive actions, and paid the consequences.
Richard Taus, while a helicopter pilot in Vietnam, received the following medals:
- The Bronze Star Medal. Several of these were awarded to Richard Taus. These are individual decorations for bravery, acts of merit, or meritorious service. When awarded for bravery, they are the fourth-highest combat award of the U.S. Armed Forces.
- The Army Commendation Medal. That medal is awarded to someone in the Army who distinguishes himself by heroism, meritorious achievement or meritorious service. This medal is slightly below the status of the Bronze Star Medal.
- The Air Medal. That medal is awarded for single acts of merit or heroism.
After leaving the military, and after doing some undercover work for the CIA, Taus became an FBI Special Agent in the New York offices. During his ten years of investigation, he discovered, among other things, the secret funding and arming of Iraq by a CIA undercover operation authorities by the Reagan-Bush administrations. He also discovered wrongdoings by his FBI supervisory special agent, Lindley DeVecchio. Higher FBI officials ordered Taus not to report these matters and to discontinue his investigations.
Seeking to circumvent these obstruction-of-justice tactics, Taus reported the corruption to members of Congress (who as many other government agents had discovered, simply enlarges upon the cover-ups and obstruction of justice). The system retaliated against Taus, seeking to discredit and silence him, and false charges were filed against him (again, this is a standard practice in the United States!).
Taus was sentenced to a 20 to 50 year prison sentence, and is now incarcerated at Dannemora, New York.
A book was written about Taus, starting with his exciting war activities in Vietnam, his covert activities for the CIA, and then his crime-fighting activities with the FBI. The additional source available to Rodney Stich, the author, was the son of a major Colombo Mafia boss, who provided additional information about how the Mafia secretly worked with FBI supervisory agent Lindley DeVecchio to commit various crimes, including numerous murders of U.S. citizens.
A July 22, 2007, letter by Richard Taus to Senator Russ Feingold (Adobe pdf)highlights some of these matters. Further information is at:

Print and e-book, FBI, CIA, the Mob, and Treachery
Consider the following:
Taus is a good example of how the system treats its expendable military veterans, especially it's war heroes.
Taus is a good example of what happens when dedicated honest government agents attempt to protect the people and the country in a mutating environment of corruption spreading throughout the government and society in the United States.
No veteran organization, VFW or American Legion, made any effort to help this former war hero; or for that matter, most veterans.
Virtually no one in the public has tried to help him.
And Taus is only one of many. Some of the others are identified in the book, Defrauding America.
If you feel like being a little "provocative," write a letter to Senator Feinstein and ask what he is doing about Taus' plight. And if you really want to put members of Congress in fear, go to the page listing many prior letters to members of Congressand ask they why they did nothing. Especially in light of the fact that the reports were of grave misconduct in their areas of oversight responsibilities, and by their cover-ups enabled some of America's worst human disasters to occur.
