One Reason for Public's Pathetic Lack of Knowledge of Government Corruption

One Reason for the Public Being Uninformed About the Extent of Corruption in Government

One reason why the enormous numbers of corrupt activities in government offices is not known to the American public is the harm suffered by those few media people who sought to make such information known.

Three of the most notable examples:

  • Peter Arnett and staff, removed after airing a TV piece on Operation Tailwind. As stated in the book, Defrauding America, published several years earlier, and repeating what was stated to the author by several people involved in Operation Tailwind, the facts were true.

  • Dan Rather, after producing the TV piece on the Texas Air National Guard record on President George W. Bush. Respected veteran Dan Rather found himself removed from position. The excuse used was that a document used was not the original, ignoring the statements made by the woman who typed the original document, stating that the facts in the document used on the show were true. For some reason, such as a poor copy, the document itself that was used on the program was retyped from the original.

  • Gary Webb, investigative journalist for the San Jose Mercury, had a series of articles about CIA involvement in drug smuggling during the 1980s, and as part of the Iran-Contra operation of the Reagan-Bush White House. Other media pounced on the San Jose Mercury, causing the editor to renounce the articles, and causing Webb to lose his job. He later committed suicide. As clearly proven in the books,, Drugging America and Defrauding America, and many others, CIA personnel were heavily involved in drug smuggling, and supported by dozens of insiders who either knew of it or were part of it.

These are a few examples of how the American people are kept ignorant of crimes against them, all of which inflict tragic, and sometimes deadly, consequences. Unfortunately, their blissful ignorance is also party of their own lack of curiosity or laziness in reacting to insiders who fight the lonely battle against the Trojan horse type of crimes against the United States.
