The United States had a mole inside the al Qaeda organization, receiving information on terrorist attacks, shortly prior to the downing of TWA Flight 800, the bombings of U.S. Embassies in Africa, and the hijackings of U.S. airliners. This information was repeatedly given to FBI agents, and reported in FBI 302 reports.

This information, however, was not acted upon by FBI and other DOJ officials. Why? To have given credibility to the "mole" would have exposed murders and other crimes involving a key FBI supervisory agent and other FBI-DOJ officials who covered up for these felonies.

So, the mole was ignored, discredited, in exchange for the minor matter of a few thousand victims on 9/11 and other terrorist attacks.
