America's Myopia with the Energy Crisis
America's Myopia With the Energy Crisis
Oil at stratosphere prices, the nation going more in debt, people unable to meet basic financial needs, and unable to recognize some of the problems. Some of the obvious causes include:
-
Refusal to allow drilling for oil in coastal waters.
-
Refusal to allow drilling for oil in Artic wildlife areas.
-
Local objections blocking building of refineries.
-
Blocking the building of nuclear power plants, despite the worldwide use of such plants for power production.
-
Blocking the building of dams that would generate cheap electricity.
-
Blocking the use of coal, or converting coal to oil.
-
Demands to tear down existing dams to promote fishing.
-
Refusal to recognize the increasingly high cost of oil from the Middle East due to Israel's occupation of Arab land.
-
Refusal of the American people to recognize the nearly $11 a gallon single-day jump in the price of oil after Israel stated it would bomb Iran's Nuclear power facilities.
-
U.S. politicians pandering to powerful Israel lobbying so as to continue obtaining political donations (bribes) and to prevent being targeted for removal, which contributes to the public's ignorance of how Israel's occupation has cost the American people and the United States.
-
Refusal of the American people to recognize the role played by U.S. politicians support for the invasion of Iraq on the price of oil; or the serial lying that was foisted upon the gullible or uninformed American.
