Duping the American People: Guide for U.S. Politicians
Duping the American People: Guide for U.S. Politicians
Central to the activities of the members of the House and Senate in the United States are several basic pursuits. These include, for instance:
- The practice of demagogy, using passionate rhetoric that appeals to the average not-too-well-informed American, manipulating their emotions, prejudices, and expectations. The race card is one example, repeatedly claiming that blacks are being discriminated against (when in fact they have preference in government jobs, in colleges, the major recipient of government aid, and despite the fact that blacks have seven times the crime rate of whites; more black men abandon the children that they father during their extraordinary sexual activities.) Using demagoguery, members of Congress manipulate the thinking of the mostly unread public.
- The practice of stimulating an increase in the flow of financial contributions (i.e. bribes) from corporations and the wealthy by holding hearings on proposed legislation that expectedly results in a flood of political bribes from lobbyists, corporations, and wealthy individuals. It is a pay-to-play practice that is the norm. Increased bribes brought about proposing restrictive legislation to generate political donations/bribes from corporations or wealthy individuals. Years of this practice has failed to register in the minds of the average American.
Demagoguery Tactics
- Making half-truths, sprinkling in facts that are true but not related to the issue being promoted by the politicians. The half-truths may be in a meaningless sense.
- Providing a false dilemma, such as used to support the invasion of Iraq, The people are given the choice of doing what the politician wants done, or to suffer severe consequences. This was done repeatedly through lies by the George W. Bush group (President George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Powell, Condoleezza Rice, and their shills in government and among the media and political pundits.)
- Using misleading authorities that support the politician's plans, although the so-called authority is no authority, or known for bad judgment, or is bias or receiving some type of benefit for supporting the politician's goals.
- Manipulating emotions of the people.
Being Taken for Fools
Aside from being taken for fools, the American people have paid and continue to suffer great personal and financial tragedies. These great tragedies include such matters as:
Suffering Never Before Seen by Most Americans
The great harm being felt by many Americans from the endemic fraud in the housing and financial sectors, caused or enabled to occur by members of Congress and much of the financial figures is just the beginning. There is no way that the use of borrowed money to bail out those who helped bring about the present crisis. The way of life that existed since the end of World War II is coming to an end for many. For many Americans, look in the mirror to see whose denial, cowardice, obsession with adult pacifiers, brought this down upon the American people.
For many other Americans who have suffered, and continue to suffer, their plight has been withheld from the public by "accommodating" media people and other checks and balances.
