Can Americans trust America's militrary leaders?
Can Americans Trust America's Military Leaders:
Some months ago it was announced that U.S. military leaders in Afghanistan were formulating a new tactic: placing a small number of military personnel in remote outposts. This writer, a former Navy Patrol Plane Commander (PPC), though it was the dumbest and most dangerous tactic yet taken. It was obvious that such a small contingent, in a makeshift bunker, could be and would be easily destroyed by the countless numbers of Afghans that hated Americans as occupiers and for their mass killing of civilians.
Now, after several deadly attacks on such grossly inadequate outposts, U.S. military leaders are questioning their earlier decision. With such incompetent thinking on such a basic fact of military strategy, should Americans rely upon the judgment of the U.S. commander in Afghanistan, General Stanley McChrystal, who demands that more Americans be sent to an unwinnable war, with more Americans deaths in a senseless war, that has already lasted eight years!
At stake are American lives, national security, and financial solvency. Leaving admits a mistake, but like Vietnam, must 58,000 American lives be lost before U.S. politicians admit the blunder that they had inflicted upon the American people.
