Based upon the experiences and discoveries of several former government agents and other data, the following highlights are provided:

• One of those former government agents was a former operational agent in the Central Intelligence agency, who was directly involved, in the field, in numerous worldwide covert activities: Gunther Russbacher.
   
• Another was the head of a covert CIA operation based in Honolulu. Identified in such books as Explosive Secrets of Covert CIA Operations and Disavow.
   
• Others in somewhat lesser positions of importance.
   
• Former government agents and corruption-exposing whistleblower, Rodney Stich, who befriended them and spent years of deposition-like sessions obtaining details and documents on the covert activities of people in key U.S. government positions, that is almost never known to the American public. Highlights of the Ugly Untold Story of U.S. Involvement In
 Afghanistan and the Consequences

• As told to Stich by CIA asset Gunther Russbacher, during hundreds of taped questions and answer deposition-like briefings, in the early 1970s—before the arrival of Soviet troops, the CIA was funding and arming religious fanatics that were seeking to overthrow the westernizing government  in Afghanistan. That government had  leanings toward the secular  Soviet Union that was providing financial and other help to Afghanistan that assisted in brining the country  into the 20th Century.
   
• When the military acts of the CIA secretly-funded and armed religious fanatics threatened to bring down the Afghanistan government, the government requested that the Soviet Union send in troops to  defend against the CIA-funded religious rebels. The Soviets then  responded with the arrival in 1979  of Soviet troops.
   
• The United States then greatly increased their not-so-secret funding and arming of personnel to fight the Soviet forces that had arrived to defend against the CIA-backed  rebels. Many of these newly funded and armed personnel would later become members of al Qaeda and other groups fighting the United States because of what they saw as the harmful acts ordered by U.S. politicians that adversely affected Middle East and African and Asian interests.
   
• Tens of thousands were killed in the conflicts that were initiated by the earlier U.S. funding and arming of religious fanatics opposing the westernizing efforts of a progressive government in Afghanistan. The blowback or ripple effects would continue for decades, as follows.

The Forewarned 9/11Hijackings: One of Many Blowbacks to  U.S. Political Meddling

• Hatred for the meddling actions ordered by U.S.  politicians resulted in the easy hijackings of four airliners on September 11, 2011. Compounding the blame for the 3,000 deaths on 9/11 were the following corrupt acts by key people in the U.S. government that consisted of the same culture of arrogance and corruption that had existed for years, and not recognized by the media dumbed-down and trivia-obsessed American public. Making the forewarned hijackings possible were the following  repeatedly reported by whistleblowers:
   
  • A mole in al Qaeda's primary terrorist cell was repeatedly providing advance information of planned terrorist attacks to FBI agents in  the New York City area for over a years.

U.S. Politicians Blaming Afghanistan Taliban Government       
For 9/11 Successes That They Made Possible

• Afghanistan's Taliban government had no advance knowledge of 9/11  hijackings.
   
• Afghanistan's Taliban government had offered to turn al Qaeda operatives over to a third country for trial, as was done with the alleged Libyan bombers of Pan American Flight 103 over Lockerbie. President George Bush (Jr.) refused the offer, and instead started carpet bomb of Afghanistan people from safely flying high altitude bombers.
   
• The Taliban government, which were not enemies of the United States, and no threat, then fought back, naturally, and for the next ten or more years a major war was conducted by the same U.S. politicians and culture that started with the early 1970s funding and arming of religious fanatics fighting to destroy the secular government in Afghanistan.

  • Stay until winning. What is there to win? Afghanistan Taliban were  not enemies until attacked.
