This arrangement came about after Scarpa convinced Yousef that Scarpa's prior Mafia group was also interested in bringing down the government of the United States.

• High level personnel in the U.S. Department of Justice deep-sixthed the momentous information about the planned terrorist attacks on several U.S. targets as part of a planned scheme to discredit the former Mafiosi, Gregory Scarpa, Jr. Scarpa was scheduled to provide sworn testimony at several criminal trials about the series of murders that his Mafia capo father, Gregory Scarpa, had committed with the help and suggestion of a key FBI supervisor. It was necessary to corruptly and criminally discredit the witness, Scarpa, Jr., to protect not only that FBI supervisor, but also other personnel in the U.S. Department of Justice that knew of the murderous activities and remained silent.

• Richard Taus, a highly decorated Vietnam War pilot who repeatedly risked his life under heavy enemy fire to saved wounded GI's.
