Why Terrorists Mount Attacks Upon U.S. Targets—Changing of Friendly People to Outraged Fighters

This writer lived in the Middle East for periods of time in the early 1950, and particularly in Jerusalem and Ramallah, as an airline captain flying Muslim pilgrims from, throughout the Middle East to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, the Hajj. At that time, virtually everyone from Iran, Iraq, Jerusalem, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, were friendly to the flight crew members. But that changed primarily by the actions of U.S. politicians affecting the lives of the people in that area of the world. Examples:

• The aiding and abetting by U.S. politicians of the invasion and brutal occupation of Palestine by militant Israeli politicians, and the blocking of every United Nations resolution seeking to censor Israel for the brutal and criminal attacks upon the people of the Israeli-occupied nation. That was the initial catalyst that was followed by other conduct ordered by U.S. politicians that further inflamed the harmed inhabitants of several Middle East countries.
  

• Covert actions through CIA operatives funding and arming radical rebels opposing the westernizing actions of the Afghan government, which then forced the government to ask for Soviet troop's to defend against the U.S. funded rebels.
  

• The invasion of Afghanistan, ordered by U.S. politicians after the 9/11 attacks, although Afghan leaders had no prior knowledge of the planned attacks, and despite the Taliban's offer to turn the Al Qaeda operatives over to a third nation for trial. Thousands of Afghan people were killed by high-altitude carpet bombing and other means, who were totally innocent of any harm to Americans. The Taliban then, although fanatically religious, were then made into enemies of the United States as they fought to defend their country against the U.S. invasion of their country. This invasion, and that of Iraq, generated the world's greatest number of people wanting to kill Americans in the world's history.
  

• Thee invasion of Iraq based upon serial lying that was blatantly obvious to anyone exerting some effort to view the evidence on, the Internet, further inflamed people wanting to kill Americans.
  

• Pouring fuel on the fire, U.S. politicians played key roles in continuing the occupation and colonization of the occupied country with permanent Israeli settlements. Greatest Help to Terrorists: U.S. Politicians

The easily preventable and forewarned simultaneous hijackings of four U.S. airlines could not have succeeded without the culture of corruption that is endemic in the United States.

Another part of the corruption were the responses to the 9/11 attacks, using serial lying upon a media-dumbed-down American public to launch attacks upon Iraq and Afghanistan. These attacks increased the number of people wanting to kill Americans, and by themselves inflicted far more harm, deaths and trillions in costs, constituting harm many times worse to U.S. interests than the 9/11 attacks themselves. The terrorists couldn't have accomplished such added tragedies if they tried.
